10 Step Process
Our tax preparation process for new clients has 10 steps that are outlined below.

Discounts may be available for clients who also work with us on financial planning and/or investment management.

Step #1 - Schedule Intro Call

  • Are We A Good Fit? During our intro call, we will get to know each other and determine if we are a good fit to work together.

  • Fees. We will also discuss our fees. See our fee schedule.

  • Returning Clients. If you are a returning client, we will reach out to you about your tax-year 2024 return directly. There is no need to schedule a call. Please review our new process for returning clients.

Step #1 - Schedule Intro Call

Step #2 - eSign Client Agreement

  • eSigning Client Agreement. After confirming that we are good fit and agreeing on the fees to prepare your tax return, we will send you a client agreement to sign electronically. Fees are agreed upon in advance. For more information about our fees, please see our fee schedule.

Step #3 - Upload Documents & Previous Returns

  • Current-Year Tax Documents. You will upload all of your tax documents (W2, 1099s, K-1s, etc.) to our secure document VAULT.​

  • Prior-Year Returns. If you haven't already, you will also upload your tax returns for the last couple of years. We like to review prior-year returns, as it helps us better understand your historic tax situation.

  • Draft Tax Return. We start drafting your tax returns.

Step #5 - Follow-Up Questions

  • Questions. We will reach out to you with follow-up questions.

  • Additional Documents. We may request additional documents from you.

  • Back-And-Forth. Depending on the situation, there can multiple rounds of follow-up.

  • Review Call. Before finalizing your returns, we will have a brief review call with you.

  • eSign Return. After reviewing your return, we will send it to you to sign electronically.

  • Filing. Your return will be filed electronically.

  • Pay Fee. After your returns are filed and accepted, we will send you an electronic invoice for our fees. You can pay the invoice electronically.​

  • Follow-Up. We will follow-up with you to make sure you receive your refund (if applicable).
